Israeli Documents for the UK: Apostille, Notarized Translation, and Notary Support
Alla Flat · Notary #224143 · Bar #49324 · advocate since 2008
Send me the Israeli document and the written request from the UK organisation. I check the Israeli-side retrieval, authentication and translation work that applies to your case, including whether you need to appear in person. Visa applications, probate, family courts and qualification assessments have different requirements; an apostille does not guarantee acceptance.

Israeli notary services for Israelis living in the United Kingdom
You don't need to fly back to Israel. I retrieve Israeli documents from the relevant authority, prepare the Israeli notarial work when needed, follow the authentication route confirmed for the document and destination, and forward the finished paperwork by registered mail or international courier to your address in the United Kingdom.
Common requests
- Israeli marriage certificate for a UK spouse or partner visa, with the translation and any authentication required by the application checklist or case-specific request.
- Israeli birth certificate, apostilled and translated, to prove Israeli parentage on a UK passport application for a child.
- Israeli divorce certificate, apostilled and translated, for the UK family court to recognise the dissolution under the Family Law Act 1986.
- Power of attorney for an Israeli relative or lawyer to sell, rent, or manage an Israeli apartment while you stay in the UK. Bank- and inheritance-related POAs are safer on the Israeli-notary form, which I draft.
- Israeli will or inheritance order (tzav yerusha) from the Israeli Registrar of Probate, apostilled, used in parallel with UK probate when the deceased held assets in both jurisdictions.
- Israeli police clearance (te-udat yosher), apostilled, for UK skilled-worker dependants, ILR, naturalisation, regulated professions, and adoption.
- Israeli academic transcripts and degree, apostilled and translated, for ECCTIS (UK NARIC) recognition required by skilled-worker visa sponsors and UK regulators (GMC, NMC, SRA).
- Israeli single-status affidavit (tatzhir ravakut), notarised and apostilled, for Israelis marrying in the UK at a register office.
How it works
- Tell me what document you need, or send a photo of what you already have, on WhatsApp
- I tell you what the document needs, whether I must retrieve an original, and what my work will cost
- I retrieve the document from the Israeli authority or prepare the Israeli notarial act, then follow the authentication route required for that document and destination
- I forward the finished document by registered mail or international courier to your address in the United Kingdom
- You pay only after the document is in your hands. No advance fees.
Alla works directly in Russian, Hebrew and English, so no separate interpreter is needed at the meeting. Document translation depends on the receiving authority’s requirements.
02 / 13 · Banking
Banking and source-of-funds notes for the United Kingdom
AML source-of-funds checks on six-figure transfers from Israel ask for apostilled Israeli proof: property-sale contract plus Land Registry extract, Israeli probate order, or Israeli payslips and tax certificate 101/106. I prepare and apostille the Israeli side; the UK translation is added in London.
03 / 13 · Apostille specifics
Apostille specifics for the United Kingdom
Israel and the UK participate in the Apostille Convention. This provides an authentication route where it is required; it does not make an apostille mandatory for every UK application. Check the visa checklist or the specific court, probate registry or other recipient. Alla confirms the Israeli certification steps for the particular document before work is ordered.

06 / 13 · Who issues the apostille
Israeli documents apostille for the United Kingdom
the United Kingdom is a party to the Hague Apostille Convention. State-issued Israeli documents, such as certificates and diplomas, receive an apostille from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Israeli notarised documents (notarised translations, powers of attorney, certified copies, affidavits) receive a court apostille on the notarial certificate at the Magistrate Court.
07 / 13 · Translation
When is notarised translation needed for the United Kingdom?
For a UK family visa, GOV.UK asks for translations of documents outside English or Welsh. Check the applicable checklist for translation certification. Probate registries, courts and qualification assessors have separate rules. I can prepare an Israeli notarized Hebrew-English translation when it meets the receiving authority requirements; confirm those requirements before ordering.
For background on how Israeli notarised translation works under Notaries Law 1976, see the notarised translation service page.

10 / 13 · Avoid rejection
Common mistakes that cause rejection
- Submitting a Rabbinical marriage or divorce certificate to the MFA for apostille without the prior Ministry of Religious Services ishur
- Sending the apostilled Hebrew original to the Home Office or a UK probate registry without a certified English translation
- Assuming a Rabbinical get alone is enough for UK family court recognition without the civil teudat gerushin
- Assuming a UK-notarised power of attorney is accepted by Israeli banks or land registry without a UK FCDO apostille

What to send on WhatsApp
Send a clear photo or scan, the destination country, and the name of the court, bank, university, immigration office, or registry that asked for it. Hebrew is fine. I will tell you what must be done in Israel before you sign, translate, or order an apostille.
12 / 13 · Tariff
Timing and regulated notary tariff
Notary fees in Israel are set by the Ministry of Justice and updated every January. Translation, apostille (41 NIS per certificate in 2026), and courier are extra. I quote the final fee after I see the document.
13 / 13 · Questions
Frequently asked questions
- Does the UK Home Office require my Israeli marriage certificate to be apostilled for a spouse visa?
- Follow your family-visa checklist and any case-specific request. GOV.UK asks for translations of documents outside English or Welsh; its general evidence page does not establish a blanket apostille requirement. A court or probate matter is a separate process. Send Alla the written request before ordering authentication.
- My Rabbinical get was issued years ago. Will a UK family court recognise it for remarriage?
- A get alone is not enough. UK courts recognise the civil teudat gerushin issued by the Israeli family court or by the rabbinate acting as registrar. Both documents apostilled and translated into English are the safe path.
- I live in London and need to sell my flat in Tel Aviv. Where do I sign the power of attorney?
- Two routes. Either at the Israeli consulate in London before a consular officer, where the POA gets the legal status of an Israeli notarial deed and no apostille is needed; or before a UK notary plus a UK FCDO apostille. Bank- and inheritance-related POAs are safer on the Israeli-notary form, which I draft and send for your signature.
- Can the documents be prepared remotely?
- Drafting, review, and translation, yes. The notarial signature must be in person at the office. I handle apostille and courier after that.
- How much does a notary service cost in Israel?
- Notary fees in Israel are set by the Ministry of Justice and updated every January. Translation, apostille (41 NIS per certificate in 2026), and courier are extra. I quote the final fee after I see the document.
Will a UK court recognise it for remarriage?
- A get alone is not enough. UK courts recognise the civil teudat gerushin issued by the Israeli family court or rabbinate-as-registrar. Both documents apostilled plus translated are the safe path.
- I live in London and need to sell my flat in Tel Aviv. Can I sign a power of attorney here?
- Two routes. Either at the Israeli consulate in London before a consular officer (POA gets the legal status of an Israeli notarial deed, no apostille needed), or before a UK notary plus FCDO apostille. Bank- and inheritance-related POAs are safer on the Israeli-notary form, which I draft and send for your signature.
- How do I prove to HSBC that the money I am transferring from Israel is clean?
- Apostilled Israeli documents do the work: property sale (notarised contract plus Land Registry extract), inheritance (Israeli probate order), or salary (Israeli payslips and tax certificate 101/106). All translated into English.

“I retrieve, legalise, courier. You don't need to fly back to Israel.”
The court, bank, registry, university, or other office where you submit the document sets its own requirements. I prepare the Israeli notarial work and apostille based on the document, country, and purpose. That office makes the final decision.
