Lawyer who has completed clerkship, passed the Israel Bar Association exams, and received a licence to practise law.
In Israel legal practice is regulated by the Israel Bar Association (לשכת עורכי הדין). After completing law school the candidate undergoes a clerkship (at least one year), passes exams, and receives a licence with a unique member number. A licensed advocate may represent clients in courts of all instances. Only after at least ten years of advocacy practice may an advocate apply for a notary licence.
