Israeli Documents for Thailand: Apostille, Notarized Translation, and Notary Support
Alla Flat · Notary #224143 · Bar #49324 · advocate since 2008
Thailand acceded to the Hague Apostille Convention on 30 June 2026, but the Convention enters into force there only on 28 February 2027. Until then, ask the Thai mission and the Thai office where you will submit the document about legalisation, format, and translation. I can prepare the Israeli work after those requirements are clear.

Israeli notary services for Israelis living in Thailand
You don't need to fly back to Israel. I retrieve Israeli documents from the relevant authority, prepare the Israeli notarial work when needed, follow the authentication route confirmed for the document and destination, and forward the finished paperwork by registered mail or international courier to your address in Thailand.
Common requests
- Non-Immigrant O-A retirement visa (age 50+): Israeli teudat yosher (police clearance, under 3 months old) and pension/income proof, fully legalised for Thailand.
- Destination Thailand Visa (DTV, 5-year multi-entry) for Israeli digital nomads and remote workers: employment letter and bank statements, legalised.
- Long-Term Resident (LTR) 10-year visa for wealthy Israeli retirees and remote professionals: legalised income and asset proofs.
- Israeli single-status affidavit (tamtzit rishum) for marrying a Thai national at the Amphur. I issue the certificate and route it through the legalisation chain to Thai standard.
- Israeli passport notarised copy plus source-of-funds letter for Thai bank account opening (Bangkok Bank, Kasikorn). Visa class matters more than paperwork, see banking notes.
- Notarised POA to a Thai lawyer for condo purchase, company registration, or vehicle import where you are not present in Thailand.
- Israeli marriage or divorce certificate, legalised, for Thai spousal-visa registration. Reverse path: Thai certificates for re-registration in Israel.
- Israeli probate order, legalised, for Thai estate matters when an Israeli decedent held Thai assets.
How it works
- Tell me what document you need, or send a photo of what you already have, on WhatsApp
- I tell you what the document needs, whether I must retrieve an original, and what my work will cost
- I retrieve the document from the Israeli authority or prepare the Israeli notarial act, then follow the authentication route required for that document and destination
- I forward the finished document by registered mail or international courier to your address in Thailand
- You pay only after the document is in your hands. No advance fees.
Alla works directly in Russian, Hebrew and English, so no separate interpreter is needed at the meeting. Document translation depends on the receiving authority’s requirements.
02 / 13 · Banking
Banking and source-of-funds notes for Thailand
A Thai bank decides which visa status, source-of-funds evidence, document format, and translation it will accept. Send the bank's current written checklist before ordering notarisation or legalisation. I prepare the Israeli side; the banking and immigration decisions remain with the Thai authorities.
03 / 13 · Apostille specifics
Apostille specifics for Thailand
Thailand deposited its instrument of accession to the Hague Apostille Convention on 30 June 2026. The Convention enters into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027, so an apostille is not yet sufficient. Until then, ask the Thai mission and the Thai office where you will submit the document about legalisation, format, and translation. I prepare the Israeli work after those requirements are clear.

06 / 13 · Who issues the apostille
Israeli documents apostille for Thailand
Thailand's accession to the Hague Apostille Convention does not take effect until 28 February 2027. Before that date, an Israeli apostille is not enough on its own. Get the legalisation instructions in writing from the Thai mission and the office that will receive the document before ordering work in Israel.
07 / 13 · Translation
When is notarised translation needed for Thailand?
Translation requirements depend on the receiving Thai authority and procedure. Ask it to confirm the accepted translator, language, format, and order of legalisation steps before commissioning a translation.
For background on how Israeli notarised translation works under Notaries Law 1976, see the notarised translation service page.

10 / 13 · Avoid rejection
Common mistakes that cause rejection
- Assuming an Israeli apostille alone is sufficient before 28 February 2027
- Ordering a translation before the Thai receiving office confirms the accepted translator, language, and format
- Signing a power of attorney before the Thai lawyer or receiving office approves the wording and signing route
- Using an outdated police or civil-status record when the receiving office sets a validity period
11 / 13 · WhatsApp
What to send on WhatsApp
Send a clear photo or scan, the destination country, and the name of the court, bank, university, immigration office, or registry that asked for it. Hebrew is fine. I will tell you what must be done in Israel before you sign, translate, or order an apostille.
12 / 13 · Tariff
Timing and regulated notary tariff
Notary fees in Israel are set by the Ministry of Justice and updated every January. Translation, apostille (41 NIS per certificate in 2026), and courier are extra. I quote the final fee after I see the document.
13 / 13 · Questions
Frequently asked questions
- Do Israeli documents need apostille for Thailand?
- Not necessarily. Thailand acceded on 30 June 2026, but the Convention enters into force there on 28 February 2027. Until then, ask the Thai mission and the Thai office where you will submit the document what legalisation and translation they require.
- Do I need a Thai translation for Thailand?
- The receiving Thai authority decides whether a translation is required and which translator and format it accepts. Obtain that requirement in writing before ordering the translation.
- Can I prepare a power of attorney for Thailand from Israel?
- A Thai lawyer or the office where the power of attorney will be used should provide or approve the wording and confirm the signing, legalisation, and format requirements. I can then perform the relevant Israeli notarial act. Do not sign before the final wording is approved.
- Can the documents be prepared remotely?
- Drafting, review, and translation, yes. The notarial signature must be in person at the office. I handle apostille and courier after that.
- How much does a notary service cost in Israel?
- Notary fees in Israel are set by the Ministry of Justice and updated every January. Translation, apostille (41 NIS per certificate in 2026), and courier are extra. I quote the final fee after I see the document.
- I am applying for a Thai retirement route. Which Israeli documents do I need?
- Ask the responsible Thai authority or mission for its current written checklist. The visa category and receiving office determine whether it wants police, income, civil-status, translation, or legalisation evidence. Send that checklist before ordering Israeli-side work.
- I am marrying a Thai citizen. What does the Israel side need?
- The responsible Thai district office or mission must confirm the current civil-status document, legalisation, translation, and validity requirements. Once you have that written requirement, I can check which Israeli document and Israeli-side act fit it.
- I had my Israeli birth certificate apostilled. Will it work in Thailand?
- Do not assume that the apostille is sufficient before 28 February 2027. Thailand has acceded, but the Convention is not yet in force there. Ask the Thai mission and the Thai office where you will submit the document what legalisation and translation they require.
- How do I get an Israeli police clearance from Bangkok without flying home?
- First obtain the current written checklist from the Thai authority or mission handling the procedure. Once it confirms the document, translation, and legalisation chain, I can check the Israeli collection and authentication steps. Do not assume that an Israeli apostille alone is sufficient before 28 February 2027.

“I retrieve, legalise, courier. You don't need to fly back to Israel.”
The court, bank, registry, university, or other office where you submit the document sets its own requirements. I prepare the Israeli notarial work and apostille based on the document, country, and purpose. That office makes the final decision.
