You do not need to fly back to Israel. I retrieve your Israeli birth, marriage, divorce, police clearance, and academic documents from the Israeli authorities, apostille them at the MFA or the Magistrate Court, and forward them by registered mail or international courier to your address in the United States. The USCIS, US state vital records, and US universities accept apostilled Israeli originals together with a certified English translation.

Israeli notary services for Israelis living in the United States
You don't need to fly back to Israel. I retrieve your Israeli documents from the Israeli authorities (Ministry of Interior, civil registry, courts), legalise them with apostille and notarial certification, and forward them by registered mail or international courier to your address in the United States.
Common requests
- Israeli birth certificate, apostilled, for a US Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) when registering a US-born child of an Israeli parent.
- Israeli marriage certificate, apostilled (after Ministry of Religious Affairs ishur), for an I-130 spousal green-card petition with USCIS.
- Israeli divorce decree, apostilled, to legally remarry in a US state. California and Texas often request an attorney-prepared affidavit confirming the Israeli decree is final.
- Israeli police clearance (te-udat yosher), apostilled, for US naturalization (N-400), green-card adjustment, or federal background checks.
- Israeli academic diploma and transcript, apostilled and translated, for US graduate school admission, professional licensing (medical, law, engineering), or H-1B/EB-2 petitions.
- Power of attorney signed in front of an Israeli notary or at the Israeli consulate in the US, so an Israeli attorney can sell Israeli real estate, manage an Israeli bank account, or appear in an Israeli court.
- Israeli death certificate, apostilled, plus the supporting probate paperwork for an Israeli yerusha (succession) when an Israeli relative dies and leaves property in Israel.
- Population registry extract (tamtzit rishum), apostilled, to prove Israeli citizenship for a child first US passport or state-level dual-citizen registration.

Russian, Hebrew, and English handled directly without a translator.

Banking and source-of-funds notes for the United States
Compliance review on large inbound wires from Israel, FATCA/CRS source-of-funds questionnaires, joint-account or trust setups, and Israeli-owned US LLC business accounts will ask for apostilled Israeli supporting documents: property-sale contract, inheritance order, tax certificate, or beneficial-owner proof. I prepare and apostille the Israeli side.
03 / 12 · Apostille specifics
Apostille specifics for the United States
Both Israel and the US are Hague Apostille parties. Israeli MFA apostilles state-issued documents (birth, marriage, divorce, diplomas); Israeli Magistrate Court apostilles notarized documents (translations, POAs, certified copies). Marriage certificates need a prior Ministry of Religious Affairs ishur before the MFA apostille. US authorities almost always also require a certified Hebrew-to-English translation.

06 / 12 · Apostille route
Israeli documents apostille for the United States
the United States is a party to the Hague Apostille Convention, so an Israeli apostille is the standard route. State-issued Israeli documents (certificates, diplomas) receive an apostille from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Israeli notarised documents (notarised translations, powers of attorney, certified copies, affidavits) receive a court apostille on the notarial certificate at the Magistrate Court.
07 / 12 · Translation
When is notarised translation needed for the United States?
USCIS, state vital records, US courts, and US universities accept Israeli documents only when the apostilled Hebrew original is accompanied by a certified English translation. The translator must add a signed certification of competency and accuracy. I prepare the Israeli notarized translation; for documents already in the US, I coordinate with the receiving authority on whether a US-side certified translator is required.
For background on how Israeli notarised translation works under Notaries Law 1976, see the notarised translation service page.

09 / 12 · Avoid rejection
Common mistakes that cause rejection
- Submitting a Rabbinical marriage certificate to the MFA for apostille without the prior Ministry of Religious Affairs ishur
- Sending the apostilled Hebrew original to USCIS or a US state authority without a certified English translation
- Assuming a US-notarized power of attorney is accepted by Israeli banks, land registry, or family courts without a US state Secretary-of-State apostille
- Filing for US remarriage in NY, FL, CA, or TX without an apostilled Israeli divorce certificate plus certified English translation

What to send on WhatsApp
Send a clear photo or scan of the document, the destination country, and who's asking (university, immigration, court, bank, registrar). Hebrew is fine. I confirm the route before you sign, translate, or apostille anything.

12 / 12 · Questions
Frequently asked questions
- Can I apostille my Israeli birth or marriage certificate while I am in the United States?
- Israeli apostilles can only be issued inside Israel: by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs on state documents, or by an Israeli Magistrate Court on the notarial certificate of notarized documents. From the United States, you mail the Israeli original to me in Israel or appoint me by a power of attorney signed at the Israeli consulate; I handle the apostille and courier the finished document to your US address.
- Does USCIS accept my Israeli marriage or divorce certificate in Hebrew?
- No. USCIS requires the apostilled Hebrew original together with a certified English translation. The translator must add a signed certification of competency and accuracy. I prepare the Israeli notarized translation in Hebrew/English directly without a third party.
- I am divorced in Israel and remarrying in New York, Florida, California, or Texas. What does the US state authority need?
- An apostilled Israeli divorce certificate (teudat gerushin) plus a certified English translation. California and Texas in particular run stricter state-level scrutiny and may also ask for an attorney-prepared affidavit confirming the Israeli decree is final and not under appeal.
- Can the documents be prepared remotely?
- Drafting, review, and translation, yes. The notarial signature must be in person at the office. I handle apostille and courier after that.
- How much does a notary service cost in Israel?
- Notary fees in Israel are set by the Ministry of Justice and updated every January. Translation, apostille (41 NIS per certificate in 2026), and courier are extra. I quote the final fee after I see the document.
- Can I apostille my Israeli birth certificate while I am in the US?
- Israeli apostilles can only be affixed inside Israel by the MFA or a Magistrate Court. From the US, you mail the original to me in Israel (or appoint me by power of attorney), I handle the apostille, and I forward the document to your US address by registered mail or international courier.
- Does USCIS accept an Israeli marriage certificate in Hebrew?
- No. USCIS wants the apostilled Hebrew original plus a certified English translation. The translator must add a signed certification of competency and accuracy.
- I am divorced in Israel and want to remarry in New York, Florida, or California. What do I need?
- An apostilled Israeli divorce certificate (teudat gerushin) plus a certified English translation. California and Texas have stricter state-level scrutiny and may also request an attorney-prepared affidavit confirming the Israeli decree is final.
- Does my US-signed power of attorney work in Israel?
- Only if the US notary signature is apostilled by the relevant US state Secretary of State. Israeli land registry, banks, and courts reject a US-notarized POA that lacks a US apostille. Bank- and inheritance-related POAs are safer on the Israeli-notary form, which I draft and send for your signature.
