Israeli Documents for Thailand: Apostille, Notarized Translation, and Notary Support
Alla Flat · Notary #224143 · Bar #49324 · 18 years of practice
For documents going to Thailand: full consular legalisation chain still applies until Thailand accession to the Hague Apostille Convention enters into force (expected late 2026). I prepare the Israeli MFA apostille, coordinate the Royal Thai Embassy legalisation in Tel Aviv, arrange sworn Thai translation in Bangkok, and ensure the document reaches the receiving Thai authority correctly. I check the route before you sign or pay for anything.

Israeli notary services for Israelis living in Thailand
You don't need to fly back to Israel. I retrieve your Israeli documents from the Israeli authorities (Ministry of Interior, civil registry, courts), legalise them with apostille and notarial certification, and forward them by registered mail or international courier to your address in Thailand.
Common requests
- Non-Immigrant O-A retirement visa (age 50+): Israeli teudat yosher (police clearance, under 3 months old) and pension/income proof, fully legalised for Thailand.
- Destination Thailand Visa (DTV, 5-year multi-entry) for Israeli digital nomads and remote workers: employment letter and bank statements, legalised.
- Long-Term Resident (LTR) 10-year visa for wealthy Israeli retirees and remote professionals: legalised income and asset proofs.
- Israeli single-status affidavit (tamtzit rishum) for marrying a Thai national at the Amphur. I issue the certificate and route it through the legalisation chain to Thai standard.
- Israeli passport notarised copy plus source-of-funds letter for Thai bank account opening (Bangkok Bank, Kasikorn). Visa class matters more than paperwork — see banking notes.
- Notarised POA to a Thai lawyer for condo purchase, company registration, or vehicle import where you are not present in Thailand.
- Israeli marriage or divorce certificate, legalised, for Thai spousal-visa registration. Reverse path: Thai certificates for re-registration in Israel.
- Israeli probate order, legalised, for Thai estate matters when an Israeli decedent held Thai assets.

- I forward the finished document by registered mail or international courier to your address in Thailand
- You pay only after the document is in your hands. No advance fees.
Russian, Hebrew, and English handled directly without a translator.
02 / 12 · Banking
Banking and source-of-funds notes for Thailand
Bangkok Bank and Kasikorn require a valid Non-Immigrant visa stub since 2024; tourist and visa-exempt entries are refused. Israeli source-of-funds letters should be notarised and run through the current legalisation chain. I prepare the Israeli side; the visa class decision sits with Thai immigration.
03 / 12 · Apostille specifics
Apostille specifics for Thailand
CRITICAL TIMING: Thailand is NOT YET an operational Apostille Convention party. Thai Cabinet approved accession on 9 December 2025; entry-into-force is expected late 2026. UNTIL THEN, the old chain applies: Israeli notary → MFA apostille → consular legalisation by Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv → sworn Thai translation in Bangkok → Thai MFA certification (Chaeng Wattana). Once Thailand accedes, the consular step drops and the Israeli apostille alone suffices. I track the date and tell you which chain your document needs.

06 / 12 · Apostille route
Israeli documents apostille for Thailand
Thailand is a party to the Hague Apostille Convention, so an Israeli apostille is the standard route. State-issued Israeli documents (certificates, diplomas) receive an apostille from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Israeli notarised documents (notarised translations, powers of attorney, certified copies, affidavits) receive a court apostille on the notarial certificate at the Magistrate Court.
Thailand approved accession to the Hague Apostille Convention on 9 December 2025; entry into force is expected approximately 6-8 months after Thailand deposits its instrument of accession with the Netherlands MFA, i.e. late 2026. Until then, the consular-legalisation chain still applies for Israeli documents bound for Thailand.
07 / 12 · Translation
When is notarised translation needed for Thailand?
Thai authorities require sworn Thai translation of Israeli documents, prepared in Bangkok after the original is legalised. Until Thailand operational accession (expected late 2026), the legalisation chain is: Israeli MFA apostille, then Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv legalisation, then Thai translation in Bangkok, then Thai MFA Consular Department certification.
For background on how Israeli notarised translation works under Notaries Law 1976, see the notarised translation service page.

12 / 12 · Questions
Frequently asked questions
- Do Israeli documents need apostille for Thailand?
- Not yet sufficient on its own. Thailand approved accession to the Hague Apostille Convention in December 2025 but it is not yet operational (entry into force expected late 2026). Until then, the apostille is the first step, followed by Royal Thai Embassy legalisation in Tel Aviv and sworn Thai translation. Once Thailand accession is in force, single Israeli apostille will suffice.
- Do I need a Thai translation for Thailand?
- Yes. Israeli documents must be translated into Thai by a translator approved by the Thai MFA Consular Department in Bangkok. The translation is prepared after the Israeli original has been apostilled and legalised at the Royal Thai Embassy.
- Can I prepare a power of attorney for Thailand from Israel?
- Yes. I draft the power of attorney, notarize it, apostille it at the Magistrate Court, and coordinate Royal Thai Embassy legalisation. Wet-ink notarial signature is mandatory for Thai real estate transactions; electronic signatures are rejected. If the receiving party in Thailand has specific wording, send it before drafting to avoid first-submission rejections.
- Can the documents be prepared remotely?
- Drafting, review, and translation, yes. The notarial signature must be in person at the office. I handle apostille and courier after that.
- How much does a notary service cost in Israel?
- Notary fees in Israel are set by the Ministry of Justice and updated every January. Translation, apostille (41 NIS per certificate in 2026), and courier are extra. I quote the final fee after I see the document.
- I am 53, want the Thai retirement visa, what Israeli paperwork do I need?
- Israeli passport (18+ months validity), teudat yosher (under 3 months old), proof of 800,000 THB in a Thai bank or 65,000 THB/month income. Today all Israeli documents need MFA apostille plus Royal Thai Embassy Tel Aviv legalisation plus Thai translation in Bangkok. After Thailand accession (expected late 2026), the consular legalisation step disappears.
- I am marrying a Thai citizen at the Amphur. What does the Israel side need?
- Tamtzit rishum showing single/divorced status, translated into Thai by an MFA-approved Bangkok translator, plus Israeli MFA apostille and (until late 2026) Royal Thai Embassy legalisation. After Amphur registration, request a Khor Ror 22 to re-register the marriage in Israel.
- I had my Israeli birth certificate apostilled last week. Will it work in Thailand?
- Not yet on its own. Until Thailand accession enters into force, Thailand still requires the consular-legalisation chain. Your Israeli apostille is the correct first step, but the Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv must legalise it before Thai authorities accept it.
- How do I get an Israeli police clearance from Bangkok without flying home?
- Apply online via the Israel Police website and designate a representative or Israeli address for collection. I can pick up, apostille at the MFA in Jerusalem, and run the current Thailand chain on your behalf.

“I retrieve, legalise, courier. You don't need to fly back to Israel.”
Receiving authorities set their own requirements. I prepare the notarial and apostille route based on the document, the destination country, and the stated purpose. Final acceptance is the receiving authority's call.
