Israeli notary fees 2026: the official tariff
Alla Flat · Notary #224143 · Bar #49324 · advocate since 2008
Fees for notarial acts in Israel are set by Ministry of Justice regulations and are the same at every notary. Below are the main 2026 tariff lines, excluding VAT at 18%. I confirm the exact amount before work starts and take payment only after the document is in your hands.
01 / 05 · How it works
Why every notary charges the same
The Notaries Law 1976 lets the Minister of Justice fix the fee for each notarial act. A notary may not charge more or less than the tariff. There is no such thing as a cheap Israeli notary: notaries differ in speed, languages and convenience, not in price.
The tariff is updated every January by index. The amounts below apply in 2026 and exclude VAT at 18%. State fees, such as the apostille fee, are not part of the tariff and are paid separately.

What is charged separately
The tariff covers the notarial act itself. Charged separately:
- State fees: court apostille ₪41, and the MFA or electronic apostille fee at the rate on the day of submission.
- Drafting a power of attorney or affidavit when your case needs a bespoke text rather than a ready template. I quote this in advance.
- Visits by arrangement. For a notarial act outside the office, the 2026 supplement is ₪645 for the first hour or part, from departure until return, and ₪197 for each further half-hour or part. Applicable VAT, travel expenses and the notarial act are additional. I confirm the total before work starts.
- My filing service for a Magistrate Court apostille, courier included: ₪200 per document. This is a service fee, not a tariff line; the ₪41 state fee is added separately. MFA filing and registered mail by agreement.
None of these appears on an invoice without being agreed first.
04 / 05 · Questions
Frequently asked questions about fees
- How much does a notary cost in Israel?
- Exactly what the Ministry of Justice regulations say: for example ₪197 for a signature verification and ₪251 for certifying a translation of up to 100 words, plus 18% VAT. The tariff is the same at every notary and is updated each January.
- Can I get a discount?
- No. A notary must charge the tariff, no more and no less. You save money differently: check first whether you need a notary at all, and do not certify pages you do not need.
- Do the prices include VAT?
- No. Add 18% VAT to each amount. Certifying a translation of up to 100 words is ₪251, about ₪296 with VAT.
- What about the apostille?
- The Magistrate Court apostille state fee is ₪41 per document, paid to the state. The MFA or electronic apostille fee is checked on gov.il at submission. My filing service for the Magistrate Court, courier included, is ₪200 per document; this is a service fee, not the tariff.
- When do I pay?
- Afterwards. I name the amount before work starts and take payment when the finished document is with you. No advance payment.

If an invoice differs from the tariff, ask the notary which line of the regulations was applied.
“The Israeli notary tariff is the same for everyone. What differs between notaries is how quickly, and in which language, the work gets done.”
