Israeli Notaries Law 1976

Also known as: Закон Израиля о нотариусах 1976 года · חוק הנוטריונים, התשל"ו-1976

Primary statute regulating the notary institution in Israel.

The Israeli Notaries Law 5736-1976 (חוק הנוטריונים, התשל"ו-1976) defines: who may become a notary (an advocate with at least ten years of advocacy practice), the procedure for licence issuance by the Ministry of Justice, the list of notarial acts (signature certification, notarised translation, copy certification, affidavits, powers of attorney), formal requirements for notarial documents, and rules on fees, disciplinary responsibility, and cessation of notarial practice. Subordinate regulations — the "Notaries Regulations" (תקנות הנוטריונים) and "Notaries Fees" (אגרות נוטריונים) — detail procedures and set tariffs.
